How To Excel As A Biomedical Engineer In India

A profession that goes beyond technology and gives hope and faith to humankind. It’s a discipline of Science that scales up the possibilities of achieving the maximum potential of medical treatments.

In this day and age, academics don’t just mean receiving a degree and getting a job. It’s about structuring modules in a way that provide knowledge which can be used holistically for the betterment of the human race.

Technology , as described by The Britannica Encyclopaedia, is the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life. Biomedical Engineering is a subject in which students would give their curiosity and design a practical and innovative direction.

As one can notice, the advances in medical facilities, diagnosis, treatments, and post treatment therapies have increased immensely in the past three decades. Machines like MRI, ECG, Prosthetics, Pacemakers, Ingestible Cameras, etc. are all a result of technology and human anatomy going hand in hand.

John Heysham Gibbon, made the first heart and lung machine, and gave life to a patient whose heart was connected to the machine for 45 minutes. Benjamin Franklin Palmer, made the first artificial leg in the year 1846. Willem Johan Kolff, a physician of the 20th century, who is also called the Father of Artificial Organs, has forever changed how one copes with organ failure. Wilson Greatback was an electrical engineer in the 1960s, who invented the first pacemaker, which gave people a chance for a second life. James J. Collins, an important name in the field. He teaches Biological Engineering at MIT and is a co-founder of synthetic biology. Has invented devices and techniques, including vibrating insoles, prokaryotic riboregulator, and dynamical control techniques for eliminating cardiac arrhythmias, and systems biology technique which identifies drug targets, and disease mediators.

Just like these eminent personales, our College also envisions to transform students into inventors, researchers, and creators who would bring ease and efficiency into the human world.

The curriculum at RCOEM, not only provides a great structured syllabus, but also imbibes knowledge in a way that will build a strong engineering foundation of the student. Our degree includes a semester transfer at some of the most prestigious Universities in England and America, where the students would learn and exchange the different cultures and teaching aspects. Our founder believed in providing the world, leaders, who will enhance and strengthen the company by adding meaning and provide skillful knowledge to the best of their capability.
